This privacy notice is published in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It provides general information on how I collect, process and protect personal information you provide to me. For more information on what the GDPR represents, please check these user-friendly explanations.
The website linklang.pro is an interface through which potential clients can communicate with me in order to request translation-related services. I consider you as a partner and value your privacy in every respect.
1. Data controller and contact details
I, Ekaterina Kroumova, am the data controller within the meaning of GDPR for the personal data you provide. You can exercise your data protection rights or raise any concerns you may have in this respect by writing to or calling:
Address: Zhk. Elenovo, bl. 23 B/ 12, 2700 Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria
My activities related to personal data processing are controlled by the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection:
Address: bul. Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov 2, 1592 Sofia, Bulgaria
2. Information I collect about you
When you contact me by email, phone, through social media or postal services, I may collect, store and use certain personal data you disclose to me, such as: your name; your email address; your telephone number; your social media profile; your postal address; details about the company on whose behalf you are contacting me, including, in addition to the above, details relevant for invoicing purposes: tax registration number, bank details, etc.
When you hire me for translation or other related services, you share with me your files which may contain personal, and even sensitive information, such as personal ID numbers, health conditions, criminal records, etc.
By using my service, you acknowledge the collection and processing of your data, and you guarantee their accuracy and authenticity. You also confirm that you have been informed about the type of personal data I collect and process, the purpose for this collection and processing, as well as your right to access the data I hold about you, and ask for their correction, deletion or restricted processing.
Please note that when you submit a content for translation containing other people’s personal information, you act as a data controller on their behalf. Thus, you need to provide assurance that they are aware of their data being processed by me.
3. Use of your personal data
The information you give to me will be used to provide you with the service you request (e.g. quotes, translation of your documents); for processing data under legal obligations (e.g. contracts, taxation purposes); or if it is necessary for a legitimate purpose (e.g. intellectual property). In this last case, I will make all reasonable efforts to anonymise your personal data if I store translations for longer periods.
Your personal data will not be used to contact you for advertising purposes.
4. Sharing of personal data
Your personal data are only used for purposes strictly limited to my services and legal obligations, and will not be communicated to third parties for commercial purposes.
However your data will be processed by third parties (the so-called data processors) in the following cases:
- By my hosting, mail and server provider superhosting.bg: I keep a copy of the email correspondence with you for six months on their servers. Here you can read their Privacy Notice. All data are stored encrypted;
- By fellow translators I may hire for the provision of my services, such as the revision of my translations or the provision of a simultaneous interpretation (for which two interpreters are always needed): in this case you will be explicitly informed about this and your consent will be requested—in addition to this, I will have a strong, legally binding data processing agreement with my colleague; I will also take any reasonable steps to anonymise your data in the files before passing them on.
I do not use cloud storage services for storing your files or data.
5. Protecting your personal data
I keep your personal data secure, protecting them from unauthorised access, use, loss or publication. Protection technologies and measures are reviewed on a regular basis and updated when necessary. They include:
- Using and HTTPS connection with an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificate for this website
- General password protection on work machines and external drivers
- Additional encryption of specific files containing personal information
- Protection of work machines with regularly updated antimalware, and spyware/adware removal tools
- Anonymisation of past translations
6. Storing your personal data
I will store your personal data for the time needed to provide you with my services, or as long as they are needed for legal purposes. For example, a contract with you will be kept as long as it is in force, and for additional three years after its expiration (in case legal disputes arise). Information required by tax authorities will be kept for ten years. Paper versions of your files intended for translation will be securely destroyed immediately after completion of the order, while electronic versions will be kept for three years.
7. Your rights
You have the right to request, free of charge, information about whether I hold personal data about you, and if so, what kind of data they are and why I hold them. In this sense, you may ask to receive a copy of your personal information I keep and to check that this processing is lawful. You are also entitled to ask for the update, correction or deletion of your personal data at any time. To this end, you can contact me using the contact details listed above. I will act on your request as soon as possible, not later than in fifteen days.
Please note that there are situations in which I am legally bound to keep some of your data for a specific period of time, such as for taxation purposes.
If you consider that your data have been handled incorrectly or unlawfully, you can submit a complaint to the Commission for Personal Data Protection in Bulgaria (see above for contact details) or to your national data protection authority (you can check it here).
8. Data breach
In case data breach occurs, the Commission for Personal Data Protection in Bulgaria will be informed in up to 72 hours.
9. Policy revision
Should you have any further questions regarding this policy or the way I handle your personal information, please get in touch with me using the above contact details or the website contact form.
